問わず語りに音を発する機械仕掛けのサウンドオブジェ達。
彼らが音を発するための所作としての機動の様子からは、「機械」と言う言葉の持つ正確無比さや冷徹さよりも、「仕掛け」の側面から導かれる不器用さや一途さ、ひたむきさも感じられ、その愚直なる在りようから、なぜか目を離すことができない。
その様子は人格を持つ存在の「独り言」のようでもあり、展示はそれらの集いの場に思える。
問わず語りな独り言の集いは合唱とは程遠いが、おそらく、それが彼らの唄い方なのだろう。

金柑画廊は、1月20日（土）から2月12日（月）まで、舩橋陽 ”Logue Org” を開催いたします。
舩橋はサキソフォンによる即興演奏の活動と舞台作品への楽曲提供や演奏参加、サウンドオブジェ作品の制作など、多岐にわたり活動しています。本展では、新作を含むサウンドオブジェ作品群の展示、併せて、会期中にゲストに山𡶜直人氏（パーカッション）を迎え、ライブイベントを開催いたします。
舩橋は演奏活動を通して「音を取り扱う」という楽器の本質に興味を持ち、音が発生する仕組みを剥き出しにしたサウンドオブジェを制作しています。仕組みが示されることで、発生する音に触れているような感覚を覚える。それが彼の制作への動機でもあります。
展示タイトルである”Logue Org”は造語で、{-logue} はしばしば「話す」または「書く」を意味し、{org} は「集合体」を指します。無機質な素材が組まれて音を鳴らし、有機的な印象を醸し出す。太古の昔に無機物から有機物が生まれたように、その作品群も無機と有機の間に佇んでいるのかもしれません。この機会にご高覧ください。

ドラム、打楽器奏者。
音楽以前の音楽を探求し、日常からの音や流れから生じる“リズム・響き・間”を大きなうねりにのせ、あらゆる空間を音と共に旅をする。
2011年、フランスのレンヌに移住。ヨーロッパでの音楽活動を経て2014年に帰国。これまでに国内外、ジャンルを問わず様々なアーティスト（ミュージシャン、ダンサー、詩人、写真家、書道家、華道家、画家、映像作家、僧侶など）と共演、プロジェクトを継続し、現在は日本を中心に世界で活動している。

The mechanical sound objects, emitting sounds in their own discourse of motion, exhibit an awkward yet earnest quality derived not so much from the precision and coldness associated with the word “machine,” but rather from the aspect of “mechanism.” It's as if their movements to produce sound are gestures of a singular conversation, and in their earnest existence, one finds it somehow impossible to look away.
Their demeanor resembles a “soliloquy” of entities with personalities, and the exhibition seems to be a gathering place for these beings. While the collective murmurs of these disparate soliloquies stray far from a choir, perhaps that is simply their way of singing.

Kinkan Gallery is thrilled to present "Logue Org" by Yow Funahashi from January 20th to February 12th. Funahashi is actively engaged in a diverse range of activities, including improvisational saxophone performances, providing music for stage productions, participating in performances, and crafting sound object artworks. In this exhibition, we will be showcasing sound object artworks, including new pieces. Additionally, during the exhibition period, we are thrilled to welcome percussionist Naoto Yamagishi as a guest for a live event.

Through his performance activities, Funabashi has developed an interest in the core of musical instruments, the concept of 'handling sound,' and has crafted sound objects that expose the mechanisms generating sound. By revealing these mechanisms, one experiences a sensation akin to touching the produced sound. This serves as the driving force behind his creative process.

The exhibition title, "Logue Org," is a coined term where "-logue" often signifies "to speak" or "to write," and "org" refers to "an entity" or "a collective."  Inanimate materials are assembled to produce sound, evoking an organic impression. Just as organic matter once emerged from inanimate materials in ancient times, these works seem to exist in the liminal space between the inorganic and organic. We cordially invite you to seize this opportunity and explore these exceptional artworks.

Naoto Yamagishi
Drummer and percussionist.
He explores music before music, and travels with sound through all kinds of spaces, grooving the "rhythm, sonority, and space" generated by the sounds and flows of everyday life as a big swell.
In 2011, he moved to Rennes, France. After working as a musician in Europe, he returned to Japan in 2014. He has collaborated with various artists (musicians, dancers, poets, photographers, calligraphers, flower arrangers, painters, visual artists, monks, etc.) in Japan and abroad, regardless of genre, and continues to work on projects based in Japan around the world.
