松下悠見は、イギリスのアーティスト、ジョン・スティザカーの作品との出会いをきっかけにシュルレアリスムの世界にも触れ、2013年からコラージュ作品の制作を始めます。パソコン上での遊びから始まり、印刷物などを素材として構成した平面的なコラージュ、アクリル板を積層して構成された半立体的なコラージュ（積層コラージュ）へと、作品のスタイルを変容させてきました。アクリル板を重ねることにより、コラージュ素材そのものの重なりを層として具体化し、光や影、奥行きといった要素も作品の一部として取り込まれていきます。
本書には、初期のシリーズから現在の積層コラージュに至るまで、約10年にわたって制作された作品群を収録しました。コラージュの構造的な可能性を拡張させていこうとする、彼女のこれまでの制作の軌跡をたどる本書は、デザイナー・山田洋一による造本によって、コラージュの重なりやアクリルの透明感を彷彿とさせる一冊となっています。
制作スタイルを変容させながらも、初期作品から一貫して流れる彼女の緻密で耽美な世界を、本書を通じて感じていただけるのではないかと思います。

Yumi Matsushita began creating collage works in 2013 after encountering the work of British artist John Stezaker, and through her practice came to discover the world of Surrealism. Starting with playful experimentation on the computer, she has gradually transformed her practice from two-dimensional collages composed of printed materials and other elements to semi-three-dimensional works made by layering acrylic plates, a process she calls “layered collage.”
By layering acrylic plates, Matsushita gives physical form to the overlapping of the collage materials themselves while incorporating light, shadow, and depth as integral elements of the work.
This book brings together works created over approximately ten years, from her early series to her layered collages. Tracing the development of her practice as she has sought to expand the structural possibilities of collage, the book itself, designed by Yoichi Yamada, evokes the layers of collage and the transparency of acrylic through its own construction.
While continually expanding her approach to making, Matsushita has maintained a refined and deeply aesthetic world that has run consistently through her work, from her early pieces to the present. We hope this book offers an opportunity to experience that world.
